ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened an important meeting of the Federal Cabinet to consider issues related to Senate elections and sit-ins by the opposition. According to media reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a weekly cabinet meeting to consult on important issues and review the political situation.
It was informed that the agenda of the meeting consists of 16 points and it will also review the current political and economic situation of the country. There will also be consultations on Senate elections and opposition sit-ins. The appointment of MD of National Book Foundation will be approved. The meeting will approve the issuance of prohibited arms licenses. The approval of additional charge of Chairman Karachi Port Trust is also expected.
Approval of additional charge of CEO of Sindh Infrastructure Development Company is also expected. Review of implementation of gas development schemes is also on the agenda. The meeting is also expected to approve amendments to the Rules of Business 1973. The decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms will also be ratified. The Cabinet will be briefed by the Establishment Division while the approval of guidelines for the use of Social Welfare Fund 2021 is expected. The March 10 decision of the ECC will be ratified and a briefing on the progress of appointment of heads of institutions is on the agenda.
